Visit Bambarakanda waterfall
If you two love adventures and need to spend few hours enjoying nature, visit Bambarakanda. If you're from Colombo, take a Badulla (99) bus from pettah. Get down from "Kalupahana" junction. Bus fair won't exceed Rs400. Take a three wheeler from there to Bambarakanda. Cost would be Ra.400, so from Bambarakanda to Kalupahana and back to the bus holt would be Rs800. There will be few stairs to climb and you'll be blessed with the highest waterfall of Sri Lanka. Place is deserted but it's not dangerous. There will be few visitors if you visit it on a weekend. There's a trail to climb to the top of the waterfall and towards another waterfall called "Lanka Ella" which is a breathtaking waterfall with a natural pool, but don't visit it if you're alone and if you're not familiar with the place.
There's a small tea shop facing the waterfall. You can sit on a wooden bench in their hut and enjoy a hot rotti with a spicy lunu miris while having a hot coffee and a smoke while enjoying the view of beautiful waterfall and mountain range covered in mist,Bill will be around Rs200. After a cold and tiring climb it feels heavenly. Owner of that small shop is really friendly and helpful

This is where we had our lunch. Top of the Bambarakanda waterfall.. Don't forget to take your garbage with you if you visit here.
River Garden Resort-Belihuloya
On our way home we visit the River garden hotel. Located at Belihuloya. It's a decent place and there are few huts facing the river. Best place to spend the evening. We ordered tea, coffee, club sandwiches and some cheese and tomato sandwiches. Portion sizes were large. We were already full and we couldn't finish it. Sandwiches comes with hot French fries. Total bill was Rs1200 or 1100. We will visit this place again
